Henley and Grange Baseball Club were granted $6900 through Giving4Grassroots to update their equipment. Prior to the grant, the club’s T-Ball equipment was outdated and unsafe, they used the majority of the funds to purchase new bats, balls, helmets, tees and gloves. The club also had “Henley and Grange Baseball Club” stickers made to label the new gear and prevent it getting lost.
With the new equipment the club were able to offer School Holiday Come & Try clinics as well as continuing the regular T-Ball season. Almost 200 children utilised the new equipment in just a few months and Henley and Grange have plans to introduce more Come and Try programs in the future.
They have already achieved their targets but are still wanting to get more kids involved in T-Ball and baseball and are hoping to run programs at primary schools where classes of up to 30 children can get involved in the sport.
