Ngurra Kujungka utilised their G4G grant to purchase sporting equipment which enabled a variety of sporting activities be delivered as part of a Community Participation Program.

“The Program has engaged approximately 250 youth individuals throughout the communities and helped deliver the following outcomes:

  • Increased in physical activity.
  • As delivered before and after school has greatly assisted in help improve school attendance further assisting with the development of education levels.
  • Encouraged adults throughout each community to also get involved and assist in the delivery of the program.
  • And provided Ngurra Kujungka Recreation Officers with training and experience in delivering sporting activity” – Dan Barnes, Project Manager told us.

“The Giving for Grassroots grant was an extremely beneficial grant that fitted in well with our organisation. The equipment purchased will be able to be utilised beyond the specified project completion date to enable the project to continue. This sporting projecting has provided the opportunity to not only improve the level of physical activity but has supported broader community outcomes such as capacity building and sustainability”.
