A Simple Way to get Great Donations

As the finals start to wind down for Winter Sports across Australia, it’s time to start thinking about fun in the sun as our traditional Summer Sports start to gear up toward season start!

Now is the time for your club to look at additional funding opportunities, whether it is to purchase new playing kit, equipment or upgrading your facility – there is no time like the pre-season to look for funding opportunities!

So rather than struggle through the old chocolate drive or sausage sizzle, why not look at adopting a sustained approach to club fundraising?

At the Australian Sports Foundation we assist Australia’s sporting community to attract additional funding into sport via philanthropic contributions and help ease the burden of fundraising.

With the warmer months on the doorstep, it is time for our Cricket, Sailing, Water Polo, Rowing, Bowls and Basketball (amongst countless others) clubs to start planning and executing some fundraising activity.

One simple initiative that the Australian Sports Foundation can facilitate is Donation Add-On’s, where clubs include the option to add a tax-deductible donation to existing player registration fees, season tickets and/or merchandise.

By providing the tax-deductible donation option for these transactions via player or member registration forms before the start of the season, monies can be received by the club in a timely manner to utilise funds within the season.

Add-Ons are a very powerful way to immediately collect funds. Last year, more than $1.5 million was raised through the Sports Foundation via Add-Ons.

In addition to Add-On donations, the Australian Sports Foundation are here to guide you through effective fundraising for your club. We have a wide range of fundraising resources available for our fundraising partners as well as the support of dedicated Sports Partnership Managers that can assist with getting a campaign up and running.

So, when it comes to fundraising for your sports club and the season ahead, it’s time to turn off the BBQ and keep the chocolate box closed and instead opt for a structured fundraising campaign through the Australian Sports Foundation.

If this sounds like something your club would be interested in, contact the Australian Sports Foundation via our website, we’d be more than happy to help!

Happy fundraising.
