The power of using images should not be underestimated.
- Visual images are processed 60,000 times faster than text
- 10% of people remember what they hear, 20% what they read and 80% of what they see
- Words are processed by our short-term memory where we can only retain about 7 bits of information. Images go directly into long-term memory.
Although quality written text can be persuasive, some well-placed images can take it one step further; creating breaks between text gives people time to stop and think about the points in your story or ask.
