HE'S EARNED THE RIGHT TO WEAR THE GREEN AND GOLD. NOW LET'S HELP HIM ARRIVE READY TO COMPETE. At just 15 years old, Daniel Shlimak has achieved something very few young athletes ever do.Most teenagers are still discovering what they love.Daniel has already spent more than a decade pursuing excellence. After years of disciplined training, relentless commitment and countless hours on the tatami, Daniel has been selected to represent Australia at the World Karate Federation Junior World Championships in Poland. For Daniel, this isn't simply another competition. It's the opportunity to test himself against the best young karate athletes in the world while proudly wearing the green and gold.Selection to represent Australia is earned, never given.Daniel has already done the hard part. Now he's seeking every opportunity to compete at his very best. THE OPPORTUNITY HAS BEEN EARNED, BUT THE PREPARATION STILL NEEDS YOUR SUPPORT. Competing at a World Championship is about far more than getting on a plane. The athletes who perform at their best arrive after months of purposeful preparation. That preparation includes elite coaching, national team training camps, strength and conditioning, recovery, competition planning, specialist support and international travel.Every part of that journey matters.Your donation helps remove financial pressure so Daniel can focus on preparing to compete, not worrying about whether he can afford the opportunity he has already earned.Because the goal isn't simply to attend the World Championships. It's about arriving ready!Opportunities like this don't come around every year. When you've earned your place among the world's best, preparation matters. WHY YOUR SUPPORT MATTERS Unlike many mainstream sports, karate athletes receive little to no funding from government or sporting bodies on their international pathway. Families are responsible for funding every aspect of representing Australia, including:

International travel

Accommodation

National team levies

Competition entry fees

High-performance training camps

Specialist coaching

Recovery and sports performance

Strength and conditioning

Competition uniforms and equipment

Every contribution helps turn years of hard work into the best possible opportunity to compete on the world stage. DANIEL JOURNEY Daniel is recognised by his coaches and teammates for his discipline, humility and unwavering commitment to continuous improvement. He shows up, even on the tough days, because he understands that champions aren't built by motivation alone, but by consistency. He leads quietly by example, mentors younger athletes and proudly represents both his club and Australia with respect, integrity and gratitude. During 2026, Daniel has:

Won Gold at the Australian Open

Represented Australia at international level

Climbed to 24th in the WKF World Cadet Rankings

And now, been selected to represent Australia at the World Championships in Poland

Every achievement has been earned through consistency, resilience and an unwavering commitment to improving every day.The World Championships are the next step in that journey. HOW YOUR DONATION HELPS Every contribution directly supports Daniel's preparation for the World Championships. $50–$150 Supports training, recovery and competition preparation. $250–$500 Helps fund team levies, competition entry fees, specialist coaching and national training camps. $1,000+. Contributes towards international travel and accommodation. Monthly support helps sustain Daniel's preparation throughout his World Championship campaign.*All donations are tax-deductible through the Australian Sports Foundation. WHY DANIEL? Daniel has spent over ten years working towards opportunities like this.He embodies the values martial arts was built upon:

Respect

Discipline

Humility

Leadership

Integrity

Your support helps ensure financial barriers don't limit how well prepared he can be when he walks onto the world stage wearing Australia's colours. A message from Daniel Thank you for standing beside me.I've trained for this opportunity for most of my life, and I don't take a single step of this journey for granted.Every training session, every competition and every challenge has helped shape the athlete I am today.Your support allows me to focus on preparing to represent Australia the best way I can.I'll honour your support with hard work, discipline and respect every time I step onto the mat.Thank you for believing in me.Daniel LOOKING BEYOND POLAND For Daniel, the World Championships aren't the finish line. They're another step along a much bigger journey. With Brisbane hosting the Olympic Games in 2032, there remains hope that karate will once again be included on the Olympic program. If that opportunity comes, Daniel wants to be ready.Every training session.Every competition.Every lesson learned.Every supporter.Together, build the pathway.Years from now, Daniel may remember the matches he fought in Poland. But he'll never forget the people who believed in him before he stepped onto the world stage.Thank you for being one of them.We are deeply grateful. ✨ INTERESTED IN BEING AN OFFICIAL SPONSOR?If you’d like to become an OG sponsor and partner with Daniel, a sponsorship kit is available with immediate opportunities. 👉 Register your interest here: https://www.danielshlimakathlete.com/partnerships
