About the project

The South Oval Pavilion has been the spiritual home for the ANU Australian Football Club for 60 years. Players and their supporters alike have many fond memories of the pavilion from eating hot pies to training on freezing nights, making new friends from across Australia and abroad.

Despite this treasured history, the current facilities are no longer adequate for the needs of today’s users. For example, there are no accessible or women’s amenities, First Aid or training facilities and the canteen does not meet basic OHS requirements.

The University has committed $250,000 to match donations to this project dollar for dollar. ANUAFC has partnered with the Australian Sports Foundation to allow tax deductible donations to the South Oval Pavilion Redevelopment Project.

We sincerely appreciate any contribution, however big or small, to ensure the new facilities are a fitting home for our great club and future generations.

Sorry I can't be with you to celebrate your 60th. Hard to believe its 50 years since I pulled on the Blue with the white V.

  • Martin Jaugietis

I spent three amazing seasons in these sheds with the boys winning 3 premierships in the mid-90s. May it long survive and thrive Marty J

The ANU South Oval Pavilion looks exactly the same as when we played for ANUAFC in the early 1970s. This is a worthy project to support the wellbeing of the players who will use the South Oval for many years to come. Geoff Craighead ANU Player 1971-1972

  • Snub the pub for our club

We raised nearly $1100 in total for Snub the Pub for our Club! Looking forward to an even bigger and better fundraiser next year!

  • Pete Hussin

Good luck with raising the outstanding sum for the new stand.

    Go ANU!!

I'm currently leading a group of ANUARFC old boys, ably assisted by Caitlin Roy, lobbying the ANU for an appropriate multi-functional re-build of the iconic South Oval Pavilion. To ensure the re-build remains on track for commencement in the last quarter of 2019, there is still a gap between budget and project costing that needs to be plugged. All contributions made via this facility are not only tax deductible, but will also be matched $ for $ by the ANU -- your support is important.
