Glen Iris Junior Football Club Development Fund

The Glen Iris Junior Football Club Development Fund has been established to support the operations of the Club. Funds raised will assist the club meeting recurrent expenditure obligations, and will also assist with future capital works projects such as the proposed permanent scoreboard at Righetti Oval.

Glen Iris Junior Football Club, more commonly know as the "Gladiators" was founded in 1987. We are a Melbourne based Junior Australian Rules Football Club with over 500 registered players and 25 teams. The age of our players varies from U8 through to Colts (U16/17) with no senior affiliation.

Our indirect affiliation with Football Victoria allows our older players to be selected to participate in interleague games as well as possible consideration for selection in TAC development squads. Our aim is to promote the game of Australian Rules Football and development of junior football. In doing so we hope to nurture and enhance the development and improvement of football skills and to promote attitudes of good sportsmanship, temperament, cooperation with others and character in children. We encourage participation, regardless of ability by maximisation of enjoyment while placing winning in perspective and encourage respect for others including umpires, opponents, officials and fellow players. We strenuously oppose all forms of verbal, racial and physical abuse and to encourage best practice methods of coaching. We achieve our aims through an environment that encourages family involvement. Our operation is only possible through the support of parents. Each team has a Coach and Team Manager. Parents of our players primarily fill these positions. The Club’s Coaching Panel assists the Coaches.
