Westernport Yacht Club is a not for profit, member run club which has provided recreational sailing activities, including racing and coaching, from Balnarring Beach on Westernport Bay for over fifty years. The club is launching a Sailing Development Program with the following objectives :

• Increased involvement of women and girls in sailing, culminating in our annual Women on Water regatta.
• An enhanced ability to provide opportunities for children and young people to participate in sailing by providing programs for schools and other youth organisations and strengthening our Yachting Australia Tackers program.
• Providing opportunities for access to sailing to disadvantaged groups in the community who would not normally be able to participate in the sport.

In order to achieve these objectives the club has launched a fundraising program which will add the infrastructure and capacity to deliver the enhanced programs. The club is seeking donations from the community which, through the Australian Sports Foundation, will be eligible as tax deductible gifts.

All money donated will be spent on resources to deliver our programs and will include :

• Purchase and maintenance of sailing dinghies and supporting on-water craft.
• Improvement of club facilities including change-rooms, training and coaching areas.
• Employment of specialised coaches and instructors.
• Purchase of equipment and consumables, including safety and emergency items, required for delivery of programs.
