Hello, my name is Alyssa Lowe and I am thrilled to have the incredible opportunity to represent Australia at the upcoming World University Games in Chengdu, China, taking place early August. I will be competing in Long Jump and am so excited to wear the green and gold. Any financial support would be greatly appreciated as I prepare for this competition.

This season has been a surreal journey for me. Starting with a personal best of 6.05m, I have made tremendous progress, achieving a new PB of 6.45m at the Australian Athletics Championships, which secured my qualification for the World University Games. This accomplishment took me by surprise, as I didn’t picture making this team a possibility this year. However, this past year has opened up many opportunities and allowed me to realise a future potential in Athletics. The World Uni Games will undoubtedly be an extraordinary experience and a pivotal stepping stone as I continue to move into the Open age group. It will provide invaluable international competition experience and contribute to my continuous growth and passion for the sport.

As a full time university student studying Architecture at Sydney Uni, I face the challenge of balancing academics with my athletic pursuits. Additionally, being a self-funded athlete presents financial obstacles that make large trips like this difficult. However, this will be made easier with any form of financial assistance through this fundraiser. Funds donated will go towards the $6,000 team levy.
