THANK YOU !!!

With your support, we were able to raise 1/3rd of the funds required. Which is a massive achievement and a tremendous support to us.

What a wonderful experience Amelia was given to play on the NSW U14 state team. Spending the last week of the program with her team, eating, sleeping, playing, traveling, training, team bonding and competing.

Her team - NSW Sliders, played 8 nerve racking games, winning 4 and loosing 4. Out of 9 teams they ended up in 6th position.

In true Amelia style, she manage to get injured! Least it was during the 8th game and not one of the initial games. All throughout the competition she had been putting her sliding training to good use and sliding to bases every chance she got. On this occasion, Amelia dove into 3rd base with her arms outstretched in front of her. Unfortunately the girl on the other team went to tag her and ended up ontop of Amelia - it looked like a rugby tackle!

Poor Millie was in tears with the pain. So off to Redcliffe Hospital for Xrays we went. Luckily there were no bones broken, however she has damaged the ligament surrounding her elbow, which is slowly on the mend and will take several more weeks until she has her strength back to normal.

Despite this, she had an incredible time and is keen for the Softball season to start up again in September.

Thank you again for supporting Amelia xx

Hi,

Thank you for taking the time to read my story.

As you might know, I am passionate about sport. My journey with the Softball NSW team started 12 months ago when I represented the Cumberland/Nepean region in their U14's rep team at the State Championships. After a tough weekend we finished as Runners Up.

Following this weekend, I was selected to participate in Softball NSW's Quad Series. This involved a series of four Sunday softball events which enhanced our skills and ultimately decided who would be chosen for the final 3 NSW teams.

I was fortunate to be chosen for one of the NSW teams "Sliders". Weekly training began immediatley in February. The short term goal was to be prepared to play as a newly formed team against Japan in the annual Blacktown Juniors International Competition BJIC on 25-26th March 2023. This was an amazing experience, the Japanese team were extremely focused and efficient on the field and it gave us all a new perspective.

Our next and final goal is to compete in a week long National Championship tournament against the other State teams held in Brisbane this July. This currently involves 7 hours a week training.

Any donations to assist me in representing NSW would be greatly appreciated to help cover the cost of uniforms, flights, accommodation, mini bus hire to and from the diamonds each day, petrol, all meals and insurances. With any surplus $$ (that would be a wonderful achievement) will pay for other essential expenses that we have already incurred and are not included in the players cost charged by Softball NSW (batting helmet, pants, batting gloves, fielding glove, protective face mask and sports sunglasses, return travel).
