About me:
I am 16 years old and have grown up spending my free time by the water and at sailing clubs. At the age of ten I fell in love with windsurfing and the thrill of balancing on a board while holding a sail. Five years later, I found myself learning how to fly across the waters of Sydney Harbour on an IQFoil, reaching up to 28 knots of speed. I fell in love with the speed and adrenaline rush that came with the high performance sport of the IQFoil.
The moment I stepped on an IQFoil, I knew I wanted to pursue windsurfing at a high level and strive to become one of the best in the world.
Since beginning the IQFoil, I have been selected for both the 2023 and 2024 Australian National Youth Squad, as well as the 2023/2024 National Pre-emerging Squad. In November of 2023, I had the opportunity to join the Australian Olympic Committee at the 2023 Pacific Games where I competed on a one-design windsurfer and achieved not only a silver medal, but also a bronze medal. My overall goal is to one day compete against the world’s best in international events, and represent Australia at the Olympics.
Competing at International regattas and training camps is vital for improving and developing my sailing skills, strategy and tactical competitive experience because IQFoil is very popular overseas. For example, the 2023 European IQFoil Youth/Junior/Open Championship had over 400 competitors compared to 30 or so IQFoil competitors in Australia.
Funding/Goal:
I am hoping to raise $15,000 to put towards travel, coaching and accommodation for international events and in particular, to compete at the Youth (U19) European Championships in Embrun, France in early July 2024. Unfortunately due to an unexpected injury I wasn’t able to compete at Europeans this year, but instead I will be competing at IQFoil Youth World Championships in Sa Ripta, Mallorca towards the end of October 2024.
Results:
Sail Sydney 2022: 2nd youth girl overall
Sail Melbourne 2022: 2nd youth girl overall
Nationals 2023: 2nd youth girl overall
Sail Sydney 2023: 1st girl overall
2023 Pacific games: Bronze overall and silver teams

The National Pre-emerging Squad is an on/off - water development program for sailors pursuing an Olympic performance pathway and identified as displaying a high potential of skill.
