An avid climber, creative writer and cerebral palsy warrior, Minty has realised her dream of qualifying for the Australian National Paraclimbing Team.

Born with cerebral palsy (spastic diplegia, which impacts her balance, strength and range of motion in her lower limbs), she found climbing in 2018 and once realising the sport lent itself to her comically disproportionate upper body strength, she hasn't looked back since.

She competed for the first time in 2020, and after training as much as she could throughout Victoria's many lockdowns, she qualified for the 2022 Australian Paraclimbing Team after making the podium in the recent Australian National Paraclimbing Selection event.

A vocal advocate for inclusive and adaptive sports more broadly, she sits proudly as the Chairperson of Adaptive Climbing Victoria, and when she's not on a wall or outside, she generally busy trying to create programs and events to help more people with disabilities access and experience rock climbing both indoors and out. She has also participated in a number of inclusive sporting events, including as a panelist for the trailblazing Women Uprising Virtual Climbing Festival, and coordinating the Women in Climbing professional development events throughout Victoria.

Being a disabled athlete in an emerging sport, there is currently no funding or structured support to compete at any level. Your donation will help provide equity in opportunity and allow Minty, who is committed to representing the disabled climbing community, to work toward realising her Paralympic dream while helping to build Paraclimbing in Australia
