Hi, My name is Ezi.

I'm from a rural town called Mossman in Far North Queensland.

As far as I can remember I have always loved sports, but my first love was soccer. I remember joining my first soccer club, the Douglas Dragons at the ripe old age of 4 years old. From there my passion to be the next Ronaldo started. I represented FNQ from the age of 9 playing in Townsville, Mackay and Brisbane every year till I was 12 years old. I even won 2 players of the carnival trophies 2 years in a row.

All this travelling, fees and accommodation was all funded by my mum. A single mum with 3 kids and one of those children had medical and serious health issues, but she made it happen for me. She never asked for help or hand outs, she just did what she had to do to get me where I needed too.

In the last 2 years my love for soccer was not so intense, so I tried my hands at other sports. I started playing Volleyball for my school and I seemed to have a natural ability on the court.

In 2022(age 13) I decided to trial for the regional side for Volleyball and amazingly I was selected as a shadow player for the 13-16 age group. I didn't get called to play that year, but early this year I made it again as a player and got to play at the State Championships in Brisbane in April.

Now fast forward till September, I decided I've never tried Track and Field maybe I should give that ago.

Well, what you know- I made the regional team for Track and Field also, I had to compete in another State Championships this time for 100m and 200m sprints. I competed basically with minimal training, I had never ran in spikes or even out of blocks!! So definitely needed training to get that sorted.

I ran well, I knew I wasn't as experienced as some of the other athletes, so I just wanted to achieve ppersonal best times everytime I raced. I definitely did that and I was very proud of my performances.

I must of showed some talent cause out of that, I was offered an opportunity to further develop my athletic ability to study at a very prestigious sporting school in Brisbane.

My family and I aware that this is an opportunity of a lifetime which we can't pass up.

But this is now where my mum has had to say this is beyond her financial capabilities. And for the first time in our family's life we are reaching out for help with my sporting aspirations.

This fund raising is for the opportunity for me to live away from home, to study and develop my athletic potential for the next 3 years. Unfortunately being from a rural town, these opportunities are rare and need to be taken advantage of when given.

In 2032 Brisbane will host the Olympic Games - it would be a dream come true to be able to represent your country in YOUR country!!

Please help a country kid achieve their dreams.
