About the project

The interest and inspiration of AFLW competition has led to an unprecedented increased interest in female participation in Australian Football.

Our aim is to assist future generations of female footballers to play the game they love.

The Australian Football Women’s Fund is focused on supporting the growth of girls and women playing football at a community level, enabling clubs to provide a safe and inclusive environment and making the opportunity to play open to all girls and women nationally.

Four projects supporting this growth have been identified for the distribution of funds;

  • Grants to support community projects that promote and enable girls and women in football
  • Funding to support safety related initiatives at the community football level
  • Community grants available for individual families or teams to enable participation
  • Inclusion grants supporting female football initiatives in diverse communities

Through our fundraising partnership with the Australian Sports Foundation, donations to the Women's Football Fund are tax deductible. So please show your support by donating today!

  • Rachael Cullen

    I was nominated on facebook to post a photo of myself as a player or donate to a charity, so I figured I'd do both. I grew up in regional NSW, I was the only girl in my footy team but still managed to take home Under 14s Best & Fairest in my final season. I wasn't allowed to play again until I grew up and moved to Melbourne. It's my hope my future daughters never have to face the same inequality & disadvantage just because they're girls.
