Hello!
Australian Indigenous Oztag is a not-for-profit corporation providing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people the opportunity to play Oztag at the International level. Apart from the enjoyment of participating, our aim is to inspire and promote healthy active lifestyles, cultural identity, awareness and pride, leadership, self-esteem, education and teamwork.
As part of our ongoing campaign to promote Indigenous participation in sport, we have accepted the challenge to compete in the International Tag Federation 2023 Tag World Cup at the University of Limerick in Ireland from Sunday 30th July to Sunday 6th August 2023.
74 elite Australian Indigenous Oztag players from Queensland, New South Wales and A.C.T will compete against teams from over 20 countries including Ireland, Great Britain, France, Japan, South Africa, USA, Hong Kong, Australia, New Zealand Tonga, Malta and Samoa.
After 2 Covid-19 related postponements our teams are extremely excited to join this international cultural sporting event where approximately 2,000 tag rugby players from more than 100 teams visiting from 20 nations are expected.
Airfares, transfers, travel insurance, accommodation and playing kit are estimated to cost $5500 per player and we are seeking donations to help reduce these costs for our players.
By donating to this cause you will be part of a truly deadly and unforgettable experience for everyone involved and help make this tournament a reality for our players.
