In June 2022, Huntar & James were selected to represented Tasmania at the Judo Australia National Championships on the Gold Coast in the No Limits Division. Both boys marked themselves in Judo Australia history as part of the first ever junior No Limits competitors. Not only that, but they also became the first ever Tasmanian No Limits participants to compete at a National level. Both Huntar & James fought incredibly well, walking away with a gold and silver, respectively. For 2 boys who have only been participating in judo for 18 months, it was such a proud moment that has made all the commitment & sacrifices worthwhile. Not only that, but it was also a moment to acknowledge the work of Judo Australia & the No Limits Committee as they work towards inclusion & building No Limits Judo in Australia.

But now we are asking for your financial help towards the travel costs, to get Huntar & James back to the Gold Coast in September 2022 to represent Tasmania at the Judo Australia National Schools Championship. The boys have been invited to compete in the No Limits Division & become part of another group of amazing judoka to mark themselves in judo history. Again, this will be the first time Judo Australia has had a No Limits Division at this competition.Huntar & James have been given the amazing opportunity to help pave the way for others with disabilities & ensure inclusion & participation in sport continues to grow.

The timing of the Schools Championships will mean that the boys have the opportunity to compete at the Gold Coast International on the same weekend. It is incredible rare to have 2 such prestigious events so close together. We could not be prouder of the hard work that they undertake to be able to compete at this level.

We never imagined Huntar & James finding the success they have with Judo, but it is our job to ensure they reach their full potential & achieve the dreams they have to one day represent Australia. Every day theyshow the world that disability doesn't define them!
