At Blackfriars, we are committed to fostering a culture of perseverance, teamwork, and innovation. Our Pedal Prix program exemplifies these values, providing students from Years 5 to 12 with the opportunity to develop their skills, build resilience, and achieve remarkable outcomes both on and off the track.
In 2025, Blackfriars Pedal Prix teams will proudly compete in the UniSA HPV Super Series comprising a series of highly anticipated events across South Australia, including Mt Gambier, Tailem Bend, Adelaide, and Murray Bridge. These events not only challenge students physically but also empower them to excel in design, engineering, strategy, and collaboration, inspiring future leaders in STEM and beyond.
Why your support matters
To ensure the continued success of the Pedal Prix program at Blackfriars, we are seeking financial contributions to help cover essential costs for our participation in 2025, including:
- Event entry fees: Enabling our students to compete in each of the South Australian UniSA HPV Super Series events.
- Maintenance and equipment: Ensuring our team cycles remain and are presented in peak condition through with the purchase of parts and necessary upgrades.
- Transport, catering and accommodation: Providing logistical support so our students can fully participate in regional events.
Furthermore, your support for the program in 2025 will assist Blackfriars to invest in the future with the purchase of a new cycle. This will not only assist our experienced riders to maintain their competitiveness at the front of the national field, a fourth cycle will provide the opportunity for more students to try the sport this year. Excitingly, this will include Blackfriars entering Year 5/6 teams in the Primary School only race as part of the 2025 Adelaide Festival of Pedal Prix event at Victoria Park in June.
Impact on students
Through Pedal Prix, students:
- Develop teamwork, leadership, and problem-solving skills as well as physical fitness.
- Gain hands-on experience in design, engineering, and mechanics.
- Build lasting connections with students and memories while representing Blackfriars with pride.
Your generosity will directly empower students to embrace challenges, push their limits, and thrive in a supportive, high-performance environment.
