The Kookaburra Club Foundation

Updated November 2018

The Bowral Cricket Club was established in 1883 and is the first club of Sir Donald Bradman. The club caters for junior and senior cricketers in the Southern Highlands including the delivery of Cricket Australia junior pathway programs (in2Cricket, T20Blast!), 9 junior cricket teams and currently fields 3 senior grade teams. The home ground facilities for the Club include Bradman Oval and Stephens Park.

The Kookaburra Club Foundation is the fundraising arm of the Bowral Cricket Club and has raised over $48,000 between October 2016 to November 2018. The Foundation's purpose is to support the improvement of the club's facilities at the historic Bradman Oval and investment in local talent development and participation in cricket.

Our identified Stage 1 priority project is the construction of a new training facility at Bradman Oval. The proposed facility will cater for club, representative and first class cricket practice facilities as well as an important community accessible asset for cricket and all abilities programs. The investment required is $185,000.

As of November 2018, the club has set aside $46,000 for this project and in October 2018 the club was a successful recipient of $92,080 from the NSW State Government's World T20 2020 Legacy fund. The club has applied for a $46,000 grant through the Cricket NSW Australian Cricket Infrastructure Fund to fund the remaining 25% of the project cost. The ACIF grants will be announced in late November/early December 2018.
