Lions Legacy

Lions Legacy

Lions Legacy exists to support our Past, Present and Future:

Past: The Brisbane Lions value their rich history and are dedicated to honouring, recognising, and celebrating their heritage. Preserving the club's legacy is an essential aspect of their fundraising philosophy.

Present - Academy & Community: The focus in the present is on the Brisbane Lions Academy and the broader community. By investing in the Academy and its participants, the club aims to improve the lives of all stakeholders, including players, staff, and supporters.

Future: The club's fundraising efforts are aimed at securing the future of the Brisbane Lions. This involves maintaining state-of-the-art facilities to ensure the club remains at the pinnacle of the AFL. Additionally, the club is committed to supporting its players beyond their time with the club.

Lions Legacy: Stands as the central pillar of the fundraising philosophy, as it encompasses the Past, Present, and Future of the club. By prioritising fundraising for Lions Legacy, the Brisbane Lions can ensure long-term success even in a challenging market and provide greater opportunities for all participants involved.

Centred on the Brisbane Lions Academy, talent pathways, and the pursuit of a more promising future for our community, Lions Legacy will additionally strive to:

Improved Health: Lions Legacy is dedicated to contributing to the well-being of our community by supporting health-related initiatives. This includes promoting healthy lifestyles and ensuring access to our health and wellbeing programs for our schools, clubs and broader community.

Advance Education: Education is the cornerstone of progress, and Lions Legacy is committed to advancing educational opportunities for all. By supporting scholarships, educational programs, and infrastructure development, we aim to empower individuals to reach their full potential, irrespective of their socio-economic background.

Inclusive Society: The Lions are more than just a team; we are a force for positive change. Lions Legacy actively works towards advancing social and public welfare by supporting initiatives that address societal challenges, promote equality, and create a sense of belonging for all members of our community.

Promote Respect: Drawing upon a rich legacy of fostering Indigenous talent via our community and pathway programs, the Lions are committed to nurturing the upcoming generation of First Nations individuals in their athletic endeavours. Lions Legacy will actively champion community-building initiatives and cultural education programs. Through the facilitation of shared experiences, events, and projects, our aim is to provide opportunities for individuals from all backgrounds to connect, learn, and flourish together.
