Hi Everyone!

My name is Chelsea, I'm a 15 year old Junior Taekwondo Athlete. I started my Taekwondo journey at Taya Taekwondo when I was just 5 years old. Through the support and guidance of my coaches, I have won multiple State and National Championships. I am also part of the Australian Taekwondo Performance Pathways Program.  

I am honoured to be selected to represent Australia at the prestigious 2024 Junior World Championships in Chuncheon, South Korea, which is set to take place in October. 

This achievement is the result of years of hard work, dedication, and commitment. In 2022, I competed in my first international competition at Korea Open, where I won the gold medal. That same year, I proudly represented Australia at the 2022 Cadet World Championships in Sofia, Bulgaria.

Early in 2023, I attended a training camp in Thailand hosted by Taweesilp Thailand. This camp, in addition to my intensive training program at Taya Taekwondo and Performance Pathways helped me prepare for Australia Open, Oceania President's Cup and Cadet National Team selections. I successfully won gold in all three events. I earned the privilege of representing Australia once more at the 2023 Cadet World Championships in Sarajevo, Bosnia. Following the conclusion of the World Championships, I competed in Bosnia Open and secured a bronze medal.

This year, I gained more international experience by winning a bronze medal at Canada Open and competing in US Open. In addition, I also participated in a rigorous two-week training camp at Korea National Sports University, South Korea under the Australian Taekwondo Performance Pathways Program.

None of these accomplishments would be possible without the unwavering support of my family, coaches, fellow athletes, school and friends. I am fortunate to be surrounded by people who support me in my dream of someday representing Australia in the Olympics.
