Imagine this: An 11-year-old girl leaves everything she knows behind in Vietnam to chase a dream in a new country – a dream flicked back and forth on a bright green table tennis court. That girl, my friends, is me, Cherry Le.

Table tennis wasn't just a hobby; it was a passion burning bright in my heart. Every swing of the paddle, every smash that landed perfectly, fueled my determination. Fast forward a few years, and that fiery passion landed me a spot on the Australian Junior Team in 2022.

Wearing the green and gold wasn't just about competition - it was a symbol of resilience. The pandemic had thrown the world off balance, but there I was, a testament to the power of focus and unwavering spirit.

But my journey wasn't without roadblocks. Teammates walked away, and international tours came with unexpected hurdles. Yet, I persevered. I trained relentlessly, traveled across Australia for national tournaments, and represented our country in four World Junior Tournaments! Austria, Italy, Hungary – I battled on those courts, the roar of the crowd pushing me further with each match.

2023 was a year of triumph. I became the Oceania Champion and proudly claimed the title of Australian National Champion. Awards and victories poured in, each one a stepping stone towards my ultimate dream – competing for Australia at the Commonwealth Games and the Olympics!

This year, 2024, is a game-changer. National Championships, Oceania Championships, and international training camps – these events are my launchpad to the future. But the road ahead comes with significant costs.
