Hello, I'm Matus, a 19-year-old ice hockey goaltender from Slovakia who has been living in Adelaide, Australia for the past four years. Unfortunately, ice hockey is a minority sport in Australia, which has limited my opportunities for growth. However, I have been given a chance to go to California, USA to further develop my hockey skills. The cost of the trip is estimated at 25,000 AUD and covers on and off-ice training, 24/7 gym access, goalie coaching, team yoga instruction, team trainer, team physiotherapist, accommodation with a billet family, and flight tickets. This immersive program also includes daily video analysis, team meetings, and community involvement, as well as exhibition games, 46 regular season and post-season matches, a prestigious Vegas showcase, and nationals. With a track record of nurturing players to higher levels of junior, college, and professional play, this opportunity aligns with my goal of excelling in the sport. Moreover, the intensive 7-month training regimen, guided by dedicated coaches and trainers, holds the potential to bolster my chances of representing the men's Australian national team and elevating the level of Australian ice hockey. I am currently working three different jobs to save up for the trip, but the current AIHL season has made it a bit difficult as I cannot work during weekends. I have some money saved up, but it is not enough to cover the total cost of 25,000 AUD, which includes billet family fees of about 1000 AUD per month, club fees of 17300 AUD, and flight tickets of approximately 3000 AUD.
