Eastlake Football Club Foundation

Eastlake Football Club Foundation

Eastlake Football Club was established in 1926, and then in 1928 the Manuka Football Club was established. In 1991 the Eastlake Football Club and Manuka Football Club merged to become the Southern District Football Club, and then a few years later changed their name to Eastlake Football Club.

The Eastlake Football Club exists to be the first choice for local Australian Football in the Canberra Region. With over 500 juniors, 35 senior women and 170 senior male members we are one of the most respected and longest running Australian Rules Football Clubs in the region.

The Eastlake Football Club Foundation is the fundraising arm of the club. It exists to provide a vehicle for individuals and groups to support the club’s efforts to develop the sport of Australian football in the region and to ensure that we are a highly respectful and inclusive community organisation that is the club of choice for Australian Rules Footballers in the region.

Within the next five years the Eastlake Football Club Foundation is committed to:

1. Growing Junior Football - by investing in coaching, welfare and resources available to our junior teams we will attract, retain and develop our players. Our goal is to double the numbers of participants in our Auskick program and field a junior girl’s teams in each age group.

2. Leading the development of Women’s Football in the region – by fostering the growth and participation of women’s football through enhanced coaching, new facilities and player welfare, giving our women and girls the best opportunity to play elite level football. Our goal is to provide a pathway in community football and a pathway to the AFLW.

3. Being the strongest Senior Football Club in Canberra – by investing in coaching, equipment and player welfare for our current players and engaging with our past players, officials, volunteers and our local community. Our goal is to be consistently competitive, sustained success, and maximise the potential of the playing members both on and off the field.

These objectives give our junior, women’s and men’s footballers the greatest opportunity to be the best they can be in a safe and supportive environment through strong coaching, volunteer and community support. Our past players, officials and volunteers are a vital part of our community, and through the Foundations activities, we hope to strengthen this connection and build lifelong relationships.
