Project UPDATE July 13, 2022:

This time next week I will be on my way to Perth for the final time before joining the rest of the Western Australian squad members travelling over to NSW for our pre-tournament camp! I cannot believe how fast this has come up. After countless number of reps, kgs of weights moved, kilometres travelled for training sessions, and bruises, we're on the final push for the World Cup.

To ensure that funds are available for the trip, I will close this project page at the end of Thursday (14th July). And to recap - any funds raised above our target will be passed onto the team for distribution amongst the travelling squad and coaching staff. (We're currently sitting at 71%!!!)

Please remember that any donations made now will be tax deductible in your FY23 tax returns, so keep your receipts on hand for that.

An ABSOLUTE MASSIVE THANK YOU to everyone that has contributed so far to this project. With your support I am bolstered not just financially, but mentally, in knowing there are so many people who believe in me and the opportunity for our team to travel to Finland to showcase what American Football looks like - the Australian Way!

Project UPDATE June 30, 2022:

In a short 3weeks time the squad will be converging on NSW for our pre-tournament camp. Where all the hard yards we've been putting in to date will show our coaches the commitments we've made not just to ourselves, but to each other. From here, the squad will then travel onto Helsinki in Finland where on the 30th of July we will face our first opponent - the Canadians!

The games are to be streamed live online, with representation from eight countries from around the world: USA, Canada, Mexico, Finland, Sweden, UK, Germany and of course Australia!

The support for this project has been absolutely amazing and beyond my expectations. As such, all funds raised about the project goal will be sent on to the team to ensure that all members of the squad can benefit from the generosity shown by all you beautiful people!

The aim is to close the project page on July 14th to ensure that all funds pledged are available for the tournament, so if you've not yet got on board, but have been meaning to - now is the time!

Project UPDATE May 9, 2022:

I am delighted to share with everyone my selection into the Australian Women's Outback Travel Squad, a 45strong contingent of athletes from all over Australia who will be traveling to Finland in July this year to take on the World in American Football, the Australian Way.

I am over half way to my fundraising goal of $10,000; a massive, unapologetic THANKYOU to each and every person who has donated so far. Every $ is going towards the cost of the trip, be it in preparation, personal protective equipment, additional sports travel insurance, as well as the actually tournament cost's themselves.

The Beginning:

The world is opening back up, travel is on the cards and with that, the opportunity to represent our Country on the World Stage is also up for grabs.

Finding myself playing a less than mainstream sport, Women's Gridiron (yes its a thing!) in Australia, also means attending this once in a lifetime opportunity is a self-funded adventure.

The current estimated cost of the campaign is $8,400+ additional personal protective equipment and auxiliary costs. In addition to this, as I live in Regional WA, there will be additional costs, both financially and personally, to attend the weekly state based training sessions held in the big smoke!

Rather than making the 10hour roundtrip drive each week - I am hoping to offset some of the time on the road with flights. While it will bring massive benefits to myself, my family and my teammates; as we prepare to take on the World; it will come at a cost!

And this is where you can help to ease the burden of realising this dream!

Any amount you can give (>$2 is tax deductible) will go along way to assisting me focus on my preparations for the World Championships!

Note: if I am unsuccessful in making the Australian Women's Outback Travel Squad, who will represent Australia in Finland, all unused donations at the time of the selection announcement will be passed onto the Women's Outback team for distribution amongst the players who do make it.
