The Griffith Sailing Club (GSC) facilities were inundated by floodwaters from Lake Wyangan NSW for a period of twelve months October 2022 -2023. The damage to the facilities through the inundation has destroyed much of the Sailing Club's infrastructure. To this end, the Griffith Sailing Club needs to rebuild the club's infrastructure to ensure the survival of the Club. 

Further, GSC represents an important asset for the communities of the Western Riverina whereby the opportunity to access water sports is limited. Moreover, water sports are a proven way of improving mental health and are proven to enhance overall health and well-being. In turn, operating GSC provides affordable opportunities to participate in non-powered aquatic sports inclusive of rowing, paddling and sailing.
