Hi my name is Jobe and I am a full contact Taekwondo fighter.
I started Taekwondo when I was 8 years old to help me with my dyslexia and to learn my left and right.
When I was 11, I started fighting and won my first National title in 2017 but was out for most of 2018 with injury. After the last two years of training during COVID in the lounge room, and a handful of tournaments this year I have recently qualified to represent Australia at the Oceania Championships.
These championships are held at the end of September in French Polynesia and I will be competing in the Junior under 73kg division.
I train six days a week, with up to 3 sessions a day and have a sporting goal of representing Australia in international tournaments to be a strong and seasoned fighter for Brisbane 2032.
Australian Taekwondo has advised that funding is unfortunately not available to support the team representatives on this tour and we have been encouraged to reach out to community to support my participation.
All funds raised will go toward the costs of supporting athlete costs (estimated to be $4,400). Expenses covered include airfares, accommodation, entry fees and uniform.
Jobe and family appreciate your support towards Jobe's first representation on Team Australia at this key tournament.
