Natalia-Drew has worked very hard this last 12 months since spinal surgery to not only get back to paddling but to a level to be selected to represent Victoria at the Paddle Australia Canoe Nationals for both sprint and marathon kayaking.

Natalia-Drew had amazing success at the Paddle Australia Canoe Marathon National Championships, held on the Gold Coast in April, where she became the Under 18 Women's Para K1 short Course National Champion, she did this with a new Personal Best, beating her old time by almost 4 minutes. She then followed this up the following by taking the National Open Para Women's K1 Marathon Championship, again with a new personal best, this time taking 10 minutes of her old time.

Just 3 weeks later Natalia-Drew again representing Victoria, Natalia-Drew competed in the Paddle Australia Canoe Sprint National Championships, in Adelaide. Natalia-Drew repeated her fantastic performance this time taking two Silver Medals in the Open Para K1 Women's 200 and 500 Metre sprints, again with two new Personal best times. This an amazing effort for a 16 year old.

Natalia-Drew now has her eyes firmly set on again being selected for the Victorian teams and going to the Paddle Australia Canoe National Championships again in 2023, being held in Perth and Geelong. Natalia-Drew is hoping to be able to do this in a new Para class K1 Kayak, one that is significantly lighter then her current boat and similar to that of her competitors, evening the field a little more, as they say.
