My name is Hunter Florisson, 16 years old and I have been kayaking since I was 8 years old.

I absolutely love paddling and I volunteer in my spare time to pass on my love of paddling by coaching juniors.

I have many paddling dreams, my ultimate goal being to one day represent Australia on the world stage in Canoe Slalom.

In the meantime, I will be competing in my first Avon Descent in mid August and then will be heading to Sydney for training before heading to New Zealand for more training and then competition.

I train a minimum of 8 sessions per week which include both on and off water sessions. My hard work has paid off with the following achievements:

• Australian Junior Paddler of the Year (Non Olympic) 2021,
• WA Marathon Paddler of the Year (7 years running),
• Selected as part of National Canoe Slalom Performance Pathways Squad,
• Selected as part of the WA Slalom Pathways Squad.

Travel, competition costs and also new equipment to replace my ageing second hand boats and paddles are a costly exercise so all financial assistance is appreciated.
