Hi everyone! My name is India Colombi and I’m 17 years old. I’m a Senior International gymnast, categorised by the AIS in Women’s Artistic Gymnastics. I have recently been selected to participate in a tour of Canada where I will attend a training camp with athletes on the Canadian National Team, take part in various technical workshops and also compete with other high performance athletes. 

This is an incredible opportunity for me as it will be my first international competition. It is my absolute dream to be able to travel and represent Australia! This international tour will significantly advance my goals towards competing in the 2026 Commonwealth Games. It will provide me with valuable experience in adapting to new environments and equipment, which is crucial for optimising my performance during competitions. More importantly, this tour will enhance my confidence and self-belief—two important factors that are essential in achieving my goals.

I started gymnastics when I was 5 years old in South Australia. From the moment I started gymnastics, I fell in love with the sport and have never looked back. In all the highs and also the lows, I have never stopped being dedicated and committed to my sport. When I was 13, I relocated to Queensland to follow my gymnastics pathway. I train at Delta Gymnastics in Brisbane, where I train up to 30 hours a week. My most recent achievement was 1st place All -Around National Champion at the Gymnastics National Clubs Carnival 2024. I am currently finishing high school and about to take my final Year 12 exams.  

This tour will take place just after I graduate, and with perfect timing, as I will be wearing the green and gold on my 18th birthday!

Why I’m asking for your support:

This trip is self-funded for athletes and coaches. According to Gymnastics Australia, the estimated cost for participating in this event is $8,500. This will pay for: 

• Flights 

• Accommodation

• Meals

• Uniforms and leotards

• Ground transport

• Team manager

• Team physio

• Some training costs

My family’s constant support has always been the most important thing to me throughout my journey in gymnastics. They have made countless sacrifices to help me chase my dreams in the sport. While they are thrilled about my selection for the Canada Tour, the financial burden is beyond their capacity to support me, especially given the significant amount needed within such a tight timeframe.
