I have been fortunate enough to be selected as one of ten athletes for the first Australian Hockey5s Team that will travel to the inaugural Hockey5s World Cup early next year.

The Hockey5s World Cup will come around every 4 years. The Australian Hockey5s team will be competing in the Middle East in Muscat, Oman in January 2024, coming up against some of the best nations and players in the world. Prior to the World Cup commencing the team will be attending a camp to train and play warm up matches to prepare for the tournament.

Even though it’s a national team, Hockey5s is a fully self-funded sport and I’m required to fund this trip myself including travel, accommodation, uniforms and any other team costs. I have already funded my way to attend a selection camp in Victoria as well as the Oceania World Cup Qualifier held at the Gold Coast early this year where Australia successfully placed 1st and secured a spot in the World Cup. Now I again have to find the funds for the next part of my journey to Muscat, Oman.
