G'day friends and supporters!
Jason here, I’m a vision impaired athlete and personal trainer.
As some of you might be aware, I've recently developed a strong passion for indoor rock climbing, specifically the vision impaired division of para-sports climbing.
As a vision impaired athlete I was compelled to see how far I could push myself and in doing so, I'm delighted to announce that I've been selected to join the Australian Team in the upcoming IFSC Para Climbing World Cups!
These Para Climbing events provide a platform for athletes like myself to showcase our skills, challenge ourselves, and inspire others in similar circumstances.
This amazing opportunity marks the realisation of a long-held dream of mine to represent Australia on the world stage and advocate for accessibility beyond my local community.
However doing so comes at a high financial cost. One which I cannot afford alone, this is where your assistance comes in!
How your donations will be used:
Participating in international competitions involves significant expenses, including: travel, accommodation, competition fees, specialist coaching & site guide, adaptive equipment and insurances.
Your generous contribution will directly support these aspects of my journey, enabling me to focus on the competition without the burden of financial constraints while also contributing to the larger cause of promoting inclusivity in sports climbing around the globe.
Should I not be able to attend one or all of the events, then donations will go towards the promotion and organisation of local para-climbing events such as come and try days, more competitions and other awareness raising activities.
All donations of $2 or more are tax deductible - any amount goes a long way!
Your support will not only help me fulfil a personal goal but more importantly contribute to breaking down barriers for athletes with a disability in the world of para climbing and beyond.
A bit about myself:
Throughout my life I've tried a number of adaptive sports, seeking one that can fulfil my competitive nature and thirst for adventure.
It wasn't until taking one of my PT clients to a climbing gym for some training and hitting the wall myself did I discover the thrill of rock climbing, which has now become my new way of life. This sport continually motivates me to challenge myself and push my boundaries everyday.
I’m always working to raise awareness about available activities for individuals with disabilities and advocating for greater accessibility.
For many years I have volunteered with organisations such as Vision Australia, Kidney Health Australia, Donate Life, and served as an Ambassador for Blind Sports and Recreation Victoria and AAAplay Victoria.
In whatever capacity I am always striving to make mainstream sports and activities accessible for people with disabilities.
I live by my mantra - Although I can't see well, my vision for inclusion is clear – Every person should feel they have the same opportunity as the next.
Through donation or by sharing this campaign, I am deeply grateful for any support you can provide.

Your encouragement and support means the world to me, together we can Conquer the Climb!
Cheers,
Jason Whiter
