My name is Jayda Gledhill and I am 15 years old. I am an Australian karate athlete and I have been selected to represent Australia at the Commonwealth Karate Championships 2022. This event will be held in Birmingham, England on the 7th and 8th of September.

I have been practising karate for over 8 years. I have competed in local, state and national competitions. I am currently a member of the WA State Team. I have been National champion and Australian Open champion for kumite. My dream has always been to represent Australia in karate. In June this year, I was selected for the Australian team to compete at the Oceania Championships 2022 in New Caledonia. I won a bronze medal in the kumite Female Cadets -54kgs event and a silver medal in my team kumite event.

Unfortunately, karate athletes are required to self-fund for all competitions. This includes the cost of travel, accommodation and registration fees. Therefore, I am fundraising to help cover these costs. I greatly appreciate any assistance. Thank you.
