What began in 2013 as a way to support 8-year-old Jobe, who was navigating the challenges of dyslexia, turned into a life-changing journey. Introduced to Taekwondo to help build coordination and confidence, Jobe attended his first class—and big sister Reba (then 12) was reluctantly dragged along. They both returned home that day with doboks and a shared passion.

Fast forward ten years and over 20,000 hours of training and competition between them, Reba and Jobe have earned their place as elite athletes. In 2024, they set their sights on the ultimate goal: representing Australia at the World Taekwondo Championships in China, October 2025.

But the path hasn’t been easy.

In September 2024, Jobe broke his leg during a competition. He then fractured his finger in training just months later. Reba broke her hand in February 2025. With only six weeks until the Australian team selection event, both were recovering from serious injuries that threatened their chances of competing.

Despite these setbacks, their determination never wavered. Last month, both stepped onto the mat at the national selection event—and both walked away with Gold in their divisions and official selection to the Australian National Team.

Now, they need your support.

To make their dream a reality, Reba and Jobe are raising funds to cover essential travel, training, and competition expenses in the lead-up to the World Championships. Reba is a university student at ACU, working part-time in hospitality, while Jobe is a second-year horticulture apprentice with the local council. Every spare hour outside of study and work goes toward training.

Your contribution—no matter how big or small—will help these dedicated siblings represent Australia on the world stage.

Join us in backing Reba and Jobe as they fight for gold in China 2025.

July Update: A training camp and tournaments in Korea.

Reba trained at the national center with the Korean team and competed at the Daegu World University Festival and Korean Open, securing a GOLD and BRONZE medals respectively.

Jobe trained with a local high school in Chuncheon and competed at the Korean Open where he had a quarter final finish (fifth).

Both athletes are tracking well towards China in October.

We continue to be ever grateful for the support from everyone.
