Hi!

I'm Lucy, an 11 year old girl who has been chosen by Athletics ACT (Capital Athletics) to represent the state in the Under 13's 80m Hurdles event at the Australian Track and Field Championships to be held in Adelaide 11th - 19th April 2024. The reason I will be representing ACT is that I compete at Goulburn Athletics Club which is considered by Athletics Australia to be part of the ACT.

I started competing in athletics when I was 7 years old. Hurdles and Discus have been my favourite events since day 1. I have broken quite a few Hurdles records in the last couple of years: Goulburn Little Athletics (the last 2 seasons), Albion Park Little Athletics, Lockhart Carnival, Wagga Carnival and I am the current Under 11 Girls 80m Hurdles ACT State Little Athletics record holder. I have also broken records in Discus and Triple Jump.

I am the 6th generation dairy and beef farmer on our family farm at Kangaloon. I attend a very small local school with only 17 kids. Last year I was a part of our school Relay team that competed at the NSW Primary School State Athletics Championships at Olympic Park and our team won the Norm and Elizabeth Austen Small Schools Relay trophy. This was a very exciting event for us because this was the second time our school had reached the State level final and we ultimately won. I also competed individually at these Championships doing Discus, Shot Put and Long Jump. I was also part of the swimming team that had reached State level for the Relay for small schools for the last 2 years.

It is an honour to be chosen to compete at such a high level. I am seeking assistance with the travel to and from Adelaide and budget accommodation for my Dad, Mum and sister.
