My name is Luke Missen, and I am a Para-Standing Tennis (PST) player currently competing at world championship level. I am seeking support from people like you to help me advance my tennis career in Para-Standing Tennis.

I am currently classified as a PST4 (Short Statured) player and recently won the Australian Para-Standing Championships as reigning champion in Melbourne earlier this year. In 2024, I had the honour of competing at the Para-Standing Tennis World Championships competition held in Turin, Italy, where I advanced to the Singles Round of 16 in a higher classification.

Last year, I competed in four Australian Para-Standing Tennis tournaments, achieving first place in the PST4 classification on multiple occasions. I am determined to continue building on these successes throughout 2025 and 2026.

As a local resident to East Gippsland and active member of the Bairnsdale Tennis Club, I am seeking support to help cover travel, accommodation, and tournament-related expenses so I can continue competing at both National and International level. This support is essential for me to achieve success and reach my goals. I work fulltime at East Gippsland Water who have been supportive and provided me the opportunity to compete which I am grateful for. To date, I have self-funded all my sporting endeavours.

With support from businesses like yours, I aim to:

·        Continue my preparation for and attend the 2025 Para-Standing Tennis World Championships in Barcelona (June 2025).

·        Travel around Australia to compete in major PST tournaments and advocate for all abilities tennis.

·        Compete in international tournaments where I serve as an ambassador for individuals with disabilities who participate in sport. 

·        Improve my game and rankings to compete in future World championships with a goal to compete at Tennis Grand Slams and the Paralympics.
