Hi,

My name is Mackenzie Walch and I, with my horse, Eliva Corduroy (Will) have been selected to represent Australia at the Oceania Championships in New Zealand. As a team we will be competing in the CCI3* class and travelling with us will be the Australian Senior Team who will compete in the CCI4* class.

Will and I have been a partnership for 2 years. During this time we have been based in Tasmania where we competed at Pony Club competitions. We made two extended trips to Victoria to compete at 2* and then 3* level at events such as Sydney International, Melbourne International, Ballarat, Narracorte and Albury.

At the same time, this epic journey comes with a hefty price tag for the Young Rider Team. Eliva Corudory is about to take to the skies for this first time, and while it feels so surreal, it is fast approaching! I am honoured to have this amazing opportunity and be a part of an Australian Young Riders Team. We are so grateful for all the help and support that has been given to us on this journey of our first international competition. I'm hoping that by making this team I can inspire other Tasmanian riders to dream big and realise they can also represent Australia
