My name is Maya Almenara del Solar. I am 16 years old and have been playing hockey since I was 9 years old at Northern Districts Hockey Club, finding my love for goalkeeping at 13. I am passionate about the game and further improving and refining my skills to perform the best I can on the field. I have represented my association (North West Sydney) over the past 6 years at many State Championships, and have been fortunate enough to be selected to represent NSW at 4 consecutive National Championships.

Recently, I’ve been given the opportunity to represent Australia as part of an U16’s development team touring to Europe in April 2025. I am really excited for the experience and adventures that await. This tour includes playing with and against teams from other countries. This experience ultimately gets me one step closer to fulfilling my goal of getting to that highest level of hockey, and representing Australia at a future Olympics.
