Join Spencer and Benedict McKay on their journey towards the 2024 420 World Championships!

Spencer and Benedict McKay, aged 15 and 18, are two brothers currently sailing the 420 dinghy based out of Sydney Australia. Having teamed up two and a half years ago, the team has experienced immense success on the domestic circuit as well as exposure to overseas racing. The team plans for the 420 Open World Championships in Rio de Janeiro to be their last event in the 420 before moving into the 49er as an Olympic class.

2022 Season

• 1st NSW 420 State Championships
• 1st NSW 420 Youth Championships

• 3rd Victorian 420 Youth Championships
• Gained selection into Australian Sailing Youth Team 2022

2023 Season

• Finalist for NSW Sailor of the year
• 1st Youth 420 Nationals Championships
• Gained selection into Australian Sailing Youth Team 2023
• 1st NSW State Championships
• 1st NSW Schools Teams Racing Championships (both Spencer and Benedict steering for their schools 1st team)

2023/2024 Season

• 47th Palamos Christams Race - Palamos, Spain (18-22 December)
• 2023 420 South American Championship - Rio, Brazil (26-30 December)
• 2024 420 Open World Championsip - Rio, Brazil (3-10 January)
