A passionate group of rowers, who are preparing to compete in the Head of the Charles Regatta in Boston this October, have put together an eight containing the top male lightweights from across the country, with the goal to win the lightweight eight division.

As dedicated athletes, we believe in the strength and skill required for lightweight rowing and are committed to seeing its legacy and history continue to thrive on a global stage. Unfortunately, due to World Rowing abandoning the category of lightweight rowing at the Olympic Games, the future for this part of rowing is uncertain. We want to continue to create a pathway for the top lightweights in our country to compete at an international level. Our team is driven by a shared passion for the sport and a determination to overcome any obstacles that stand in our way. We are proud of our abilities and confident that we can drive for change on the global stage.

Participating in an international competition involves considerable expenses, including travel, accommodation, equipment, and registration fees. To make this dream a reality, we are seeking financial support from individuals or organisations, who share our passion for sport and for the ability for athletes, regardless of shape and size, to be able to compete at the highest level.

Any donation made would be greatly appreciated and would play a crucial role in enabling us to represent the best of Australian Lightweight Rowing at the Head of the Charles Regatta. Any amount, no matter how small, will make a difference and help us achieve our goal.
