About the project

The Perth White Water Centre (PWWC) will be a World Class tourism destination that will excite our local Perth community and engage our youth. This multi-purpose facility will provide a unique focal point around which the people of Perth can enjoy our great city.

The PWWC aims to promote education, inclusion and healthy lifestyles. The centre will offer fun and educational opportunities for WA schools, white water safety and rescue training for WA’s emergency services.

The centre will also cater for international competitions and events while making the most of Perth’s amazing weather!

The PWWC will offer a variety of programs and host multiple events, including:

  • School programs: outdoor education, school camps
  • White water training and practice sessions
  • Canoe slalom training and practice sessions
  • Swift Water Rescue Training for the Department of Fire and Emergency Services training
  • Social programs: family sessions, group sessions, bucks and hens parties and rafting
  • Corporate days: Christmas parties, team bonding, meetings and conferences
  • All-Access program in association with Wheelchair Sports
  • Holiday programs
  • Tourist attraction – Cardiff International White Water Park attracts over 180,000 visitors per year
  • Potential for ICF Canoe Slalom World Cups and World Championships

It also has the potential to be a multi-use facility. We are liaising with other sport associations to ensure the Centre will be used to its full capabilities.

This includes:

  • Working with Wheelchair Sports to host several programs per year
  • Hosting BMX training and events in association with Cycle West and BMX Sports WA
  • The facility would also include a high Ropes course and Rock Climbing Wall
  • Hosting Wakeboarding training and events in association with the Western Australian Ski Association Inc

The next step to make the Whitewater Centre a reality is to fund a business case

Canoeing WA need to produce a business case to potential investors and local governments. The cost involved in the producing of a business case is $25 000.
