Reid trialled amongst 650 boys back in April for the AFL under 15s State school boys team, travelling from Geraldton each week to be shortlisted to squad of 160. He then made it through all three trails over the coming weeks and he has since made last cut of 35 with a squad of 25 travelling and Reid being one of the 10 train on squad members.

He continued to travel each Monday to attend training in Perth to further develop his football skills and stay in touch with the main squad.

After an impressive performance at a scratch match against Subiaco Futures AFL team, that night while driving back to Geraldton he received a call to be told he had been moved to the travelling side to go to Gold Coast in July/August.

All cost that are associated for Reid to be able to travel each week to training in Perth, and for Reid to be able to partake in the championships will need to be funded by his family as there are no financial supports from outside parties of School sport WA or AFL, or any other parties.
