My name is Renae Jones. I am one of two junior women to be selected to represent Australia at the 2024 ISSF Junior World Championships in Peru later this year as a result of performances over the last year and a half, and from a selection series conducted this year. I am currently ranked number 2 in Junior Women's Olympic Trap in Australia.

This month I have been very fortunate to be invited to compete at the USA National Championships on my way to Peru, providing I can fund it myself.

While the Junior World Championships part of the trip is a funded opportunity with only incidental expenses being my responsibility, the USA Nationals part of the trip I will have to raise the money for over the next six weeks.

This is a unique opportunity for me. I will get the opportunity to acclimatize to the timezone ahead of the Junior World Championships in Peru, while competing against some of the best junior women in the world of Olympic Trap shooting. It's not often that two international events can be combined in one trip where some of the costs are covered by national team selection.

It will help develop me as an athlete and expose me to more international competition - something that is difficult to do in Australia.
