South Australia has a long successful history in the national wheelchair basketball league since 1988, however following covid we have been unable to submit a team resulting in players having to play for other states. This has meant that a lot of our talented athletes have missed out on playing in national league due to limited spots in other states.

SA wheelchair basketball association and Adelaide Thunder have submitted a mixed team of males and females for the mens 2024 national wheelchair basketball league. This will provide our players with the opportunity to showcase their talents and potentially open them up to opportunities beyond national league.

National League will be played over 6 weekends as a home and away series. This means we will have at least two rounds being held in Adelaide, providing us with the opportunity to promote wheelchair basketball in South Australia. This will create greater awareness and help improve the visibility of wheelchair basketball. We hope that by improving visibility of the sport it will help grow our local league creating opportunities for greater support for our community.

Your donation will go a long way into helping us achieve our goal of returning Adelaide Thunder to the National Wheelchair Basketball League.

This will provide our elite players with the opportunity to showcase their skills, hard work, determination and resilience at a national level whilst representing South Australia.

Your generosity and donation will make a signification difference not only to the players that go to national league but also to our community. It will help us grow the sport of wheelchair basketball in South Australia
