Competitive All-Star Cheerleading encompasses jump, tumble, dance, and stunting to create a physically demanding but visually appealing routine. Cheerleading has brought so much to my life; teammates, friendship, injury, loss, support, trust and confidence. It can be incredibly challenging, but cheerleading has been such a rewarding sport and I am so incredibly grateful to have the opportunity to compete on an international level.

The IASF Cheerleading World Championship is one of the most competitive international events for level 5, 6 and 7 athletes from all around the globe. Each year The ESPN World of Sport in Orlando, Florida USA is filled with thousands of international cheerleaders; this year, I am proud to be one of these athletes competing in the Open Level 6 division.

Though this trip will be the pinnacle of my athletic cheer career as an athlete, is does not come without its challenges. For Australian athletes, travelling to The Cheerleading World Championship is completely self-funded. Each athletes’ individual costs exceed well over $7,000 for the chance to put it all out on the floor for a 2:30 routine.

The funds raised through donations will assist with not only travel costs, but training attire and costs prior to departing Australia, as well as assist with transport and training costs once in America.
