Following another triumphant year of competing in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in Perth, Western Australia, Silas has amassed a total of 6 gold, 6 silver, and 2 bronze medals. Among these, he secured a gold at the IBJJF Pan Pacific competition in Melbourne in October 2023, and another at the AFBJJ WA State Title in July 2023. Since then, he has advanced in rank and is now a Grey-Black belt.

We are super proud of him & how dedicated he is (he trains a minimum of 4 days a week), his focus (especially given that he has ADHD) & amazed by his unwavering determination to succeed in BJJ & I find it inspiring.

As a Mum, I am committed to supporting my son's ambition to become a World Champion in BJJ. While we are saving money, we also need additional support to reach our fundraising target.

We aim to raise funds for the following expenses (all amounts are approximate and based on December 2024 prices, which are likely to increase by December 2025):

- $6100 for return flights (for Silas and one parent)

- $1700 for accommodation over 8 nights

- $300 for car hire

- $1000 for food for two people (covering 8 days, 3 meals per day)

- $200 for fuel costs

- $300 for passport fees

- $200 for competition entry fees

- $200 for travel insurance

- $300 suitable warm winter clothing for 1 adult & 1 child
