Visit websiteThe Amelia McGuiness Australian Snowsports Development Foundation was established following the tragic death of 16 year old Amelia whilst skiing in 2009. Commonly know as AMASDF the foundation provides scholarships to NSW, ACT and QLD up and coming talented snowsport athletes across all disciplines including disabled athletes. The scholarships provide assistance to the athletes whilst they focus on their goal to represent Australia both here and abroad. Scholarships are open to athletes from 10-18 years of age and are awarded annually. The McGuiness family are passionate skiers and Amelia had been skiing since the age of two. She achieved great success with her skiing, as student at Tara and Barker College and in memory of her the foundation was established to support ongoing participation in what is an expensive sport. We aim to encourage children to be active and live a healthy and fulfilling life and to pursue their dreams. We achieve our goal of awarding annual scholarships by way of participation in our major fundraiser, The Memorial Time Trial, and donations. Your support will enable the foundation to continue to support these athletes in their chosen discipline: Alpine, Freestyle, Cross Country/Biathlon, Snowboarding and Disabled Winter Athletes.
