Having lost my father two years ago, I now run the family farm with my 78 year old mother. We are both very proud of the fact that we are able to do this between us. Since Dads departure, we have had two years of drought. (yep while most of WA had a great 2018 we only had 49% of the rain of our previous worst ever year). I have as a result had to seriously consider selling my potential Olympic horse (Misty Isle Valentino). So far, by virtue of doing as much off farm coaching as possible we have managed to avoid this. 

The program forward to selection for the Tokyo Olympics, is that I need to head to NSW mid April for selection competitions. There is a strong possibility that I will need to stay based in the East until departure for Tokyo ( if selected) on the 20 July 2020. 

This will require us to employ people to help with the heavy work Mum can not be expected to do. I will also have additional costs, with needing to pay for places for Valentino and myself to live while in the East. Then of course there are fuel costs.
