Visit websiteSouth Gippsland Bass (SGB) Swimming Club is preparing to attend the 2025 Australian Age, Multi-Class and Open Swimming Championships at the Brisbane Aquatic Centre, QLD this April. This is the biggest competition in Australia for swimmers aged 13yrs & over, and is a national stage for future Olympians.
The 2025 National Team is shaping up to be the largest SGB team of swimmers who have attended an Australian Championships. To date 14 swimmers have qualified with more aiming to qualify over the next few weeks. Many of these swimmers are returning for their 3rd and 4th national event.
The clubs emerging Multi-Class Squad is well represented with 2 first-time national swimmers and 1 returning for their second year.
To support the swimmers, the club sends two coaches to attend the event, they are an integral part of all the swimmers’ preparation and success at the championships. The cost to send the swimmers and coaches to the event is a big outlay to the club, for flights, accomodation, coaching wages, hire cars, food, event accreditation, and uniforms. We are aiming to raise $5000 to support the swimmers and coaches.
SGB encompasses a positive and professional environment from development right up to national-level swimmers with an experienced coaching team who assist all swimmers to achieve their best. Swimmers train at both the Leongatha and Wonthaggi pools.
The SGB club philosophy is for all members to fulfil their potential, make a meaningful contribution to their community and be the best version of themselves while having fun.
Thank you for supporting the 2025 SGB National Team.
