Established in 1921 St George District Rugby League Football Club (St George DRLFC) enjoys almost a century of proud tradition and success, claiming 16 first grade Premierships and is a joint venture partner in the St George Illawarra Dragons, competing in both the NRL men’s and NRL Women’s competitions.

St George DRLFC also oversees and propagates opportunities for youth within the St George region in southern Sydney to participate in and develop within the sport of Rugby League. Our Vision is embedded in the core values and mission of our club;

• to provide opportunities for both men and women,
• to develop and deliver playing and coaching talent into the Dragons pathway and
• to engage deeply with the St George community.

Our Past – Heritage

In 2021 St George DRLFC will celebrate its Centenary and 100 years of rich heritage and history, including the world record 11 successive Premierships between 1956 and 1966, an achievement simply referred to as “Never Before and Never Again’.

Your tax deductible donation will be used to support the preservation and celebration of our wonderful heritage and history in our centenary year. All organisations are richer for how they recognise and celebrate their history. At St George DRLFC we are committed to recognising those wonderfully talented and committed individuals that helped set firm foundations for this great club, both on and off the field. Whether it be  

• purchasing and displaying memorabilia;
• recognising past players and staff;
• organising community events;
• commissioning historical works, ensuring these treasures remain accessible and relevant to our supporters.

Our Present – Community

At St George DRLFC we recognise we are in a unique position to make things happen in the St George community. Already each year we invest substantially to provide opportunities for the youth in the region through Rugby League and many other community programs and initiatives. We open doors, create networks, lead change initiatives, advocate for progress, and leverage partnerships across the St George region, but there is much more we want to do!! As highly visible members of the community we aspire to make a positive contribution to our society.

Everything we do has one central purpose, to build a better and healthier community with a special focus on youth. Your tax deductible donation will be used to support these objectives as we continue to invest and grow these programs that serve the community so well.

Our Future – Football

St George DRLFC invests substantially into representative programs and development opportunities for both male and female players in the region, providing a key pathway to represent the Dragons in both the NRL and NRLW competitions. St George currently manage, fund and administer teams competing in the Harold Mathews, SG Ball, Tarsha Gale and Lisa Fiaola NSWRL competitions in addition to development squads for youth between 14 and 18.

However, our mission is to seek to provide even more pathway opportunities for male and female players in our region, and we have plans in place to extend both our male and female programs into further state-based competitions. This will require significant additional investment into player development programs as well as ensuring that the facilities available to our male and female athletes provide them with the best opportunity to succeed. There is an immediate and ongoing requirement to improve and upgrade athlete training facilities. Technology moves faster than anyone can anticipate, and we want to provide cutting edge facilities for our players, coaches and support staff to ensure our club is at the pinnacle of athlete development.

You have the opportunity to assist us with developing and maintaining the benchmark facilities and programs required for the club and our representative teams to perform continuously at our peak, and to continue to provide elite pathway opportunities with the Dragons. Contributions from donors will greatly assist us in achieving these objectives, into areas such as:

• Growth in Female Participation
• Junior Player Development & Talent ID
• Sports Science Initiatives
