Fawkner Netball Club, established in 2018 and based at Charles Mutton Reserve, Fawkner, currently have 25 teams over Junior and Senior competitions. That’s about 250 registered players!
We have a large presence in the wider Fawkner community and our growth is a result of our tireless dedication to engagement at our Club. We are committed to inclusivity, tolerance and the continual celebration of all the ages, cultures and abilities of our members.
WHAT IS NEEDED
To enable our continued growth, we need to upgrade our facilities. We are limited in the use of our wonderful courts because they are not weather-friendly in the heat of summer or the (player-endangering) drizzle of winter. Furthermore, the asphalt in some places is beginning to wear away, making the court surface unsafe to play on, especially when it is wet.
This upgrade means that we can use our facilities all year round. We could use them for playing games, hosting tournaments and netball clinics, celebrating our achievements, and welcoming new players and sponsors in a safe and reliable environment.
The upgrade will be rolled out in stages, which will allow us to source funding through large facility improvement grants, sponsorship and fundraising. The funds will be used for:
Stage One ($1.5 million - 2024-2026)
- Roofing over 8 courts & lighting if required.
(Funding to be sourced through Government grants, Council contributions)
Stage Two ($200,000 - 2026)
- Resurfacing 8 courts.
(Funding to be sourced through crowdfunding program)
Stage Three ($TBC - 2026-2027)
- Solar panels
- Rainwater tanks
- NBN connection for live (paperless) scoring
- PA-siren system
(Funding to be sourced through crowdfunding program & fundraising)
HOW TO GET INVOLVED
Be part of something special and leave your legacy with Fawkner Netball Courts.
We are calling on community contributions to cover the cost of Stage 2 ($200,000). With over 250 registered players and more than 500 non-registered users of the courts, our facilities desperately need an upgrade. Please help this to become a reality by donating and receiving permanent recognition for your contribution at the courts, forever!
BUY A BRICK
Please help us resurface the courts “brick by brick”. There are limited “bricks” available. Your name (or family or company name) will be engraved on a “brick” matching the colour of your donation and immortalised on the path leading to the main entrance of the courts. This is a chance to be part of Fawkner Netball Club history!
· Gold (yellow) – 5 available - $5,000 per brick
· Silver (grey) – 10 available - $2,000 per brick
· Bronze (brown) – 30 available - $1,000 per brick
· Std brick (red) - unlimited - $250 per brick
Every bit helps, so even if you don't want to purchase a brick, you are welcome to make a donation of your choosing.
Our Club has always thrived as a result of the commitment of volunteers and community members who are willing to dedicate their efforts to our success. Please show your support by making a tax-deductible donation to our Club!
